Author, Model, Motivational Speaker: Jenna Marie Christian

An alluring author and advocate with an angelic spirit doesn’t begin to capture the essence of this ambitious young woman, Jenna Marie Christian.

Born Jennifer Marie Christian on Chicago’s Westside to the legendary blues singer little Johnny Christian and the beautiful Mary Christian-Jones is where things begin. Jenna realized at an early age through witnessing the impact of her fathers music on others and her mothers hard work as an educator and dedicated servant for the Lord that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others in every way that she could. Jenna published her first book (You Broke My Heart, Now Go to Hell) in 2008. Jenna wanted to use her personal story as a way to spread the message of “allow every adversity to make you better and not bitter” to every young woman across America and beyond.

Jenna is known for her charismatic persona, incredible sense of humor, radiant smile and charm. She is also notably recognized for being driven by her passion to help others. Her desire to improve her community is shown through her countless volunteer efforts. Jenna Marie can be found tirelessly working everywhere she is needed from preschools, shelters, crisis hotlines, churches, to food drives. Model: La Shon

Not the typical model but fabulous none the less. La Shon is the 'Everyday woman' hell bent on reminding the world that ALL women are beautiful. It was on a whim that she posed for a photographer's class project. What got her serious is when someone messaged her about a bodypaint session. "Since that shoot, I've been trying to connect with serious companies that I can do commercial work with. I understand the industry doesn't believe I'm runway material & that's just a shame but I know I can do other work; I want the print ads, background acting, creative shoots, promotional events."

Even with set goals in mind, La Shon admits it hasn't been easy. "I'm Black, I'm short, I've got locs, & I'm healthy. But how funny is it that I'm almost certain my age is playing a factor. Companies won't be able to play games with me cause I'm not new to the industry or life. And don't get it twisted; I might be 31 but with the right hair style I look like I'm in high school so skip this age factor, I'm aging quite well."

Despite knowing some primary details of how cruel the industry is, La Shon continues to pursue work. She is listed with a few agencies for promotional work as a freelancer & has no thoughts of stopping now. The short she mentions is her 5'4" height that throws most people off, as she looks taller. "Its the legs, I've got long legs for my height," she says with a smile, "I'm a standard size 8 but I am coming out of hibernation. I've also learned that a woman's body can change from week to week. If I wore a size 8 last week, this week I could be pushing a 10 from bloating. So disturbing!"

If you would like to book this witty lady she is available for promotions, fashion, video, voice, & print work and can be reached by e-mail, model@lashon.org.
